Parent Questions!

Not Solved Parent Questions!
Welcome, parents! My names is Meghan, and I am an alumni of WJMC 2016 and a member of the Youth Advisory Board for WJMC 2017. The experience I had at the Conference has one of the best I've ever had. I met a great group of friends, interacted with well-renowned journalists, and found my passion for journalism and media relations. The staff at WJMC is amazing; throughout the week, Correspondents get to know their Faculty Advisors and Junior Faculty Advisors. The FAs are teachers responsible for facilitating group activities, and for leading the group throughout the week. My color group's FA was from Colorado, and many of my amazing friends live on the West Coast. Being all the way over in Buffalo, New York, I was thrilled to meet such amazing people from all throughout the country. JFAs are college students, many of whom attend George Mason University. They aide the color group's FA and are extremely helpful and friendly. Both the FAs and the JFAs are integral parts of the WJMC experience. Each and every person on the WJMC staff is dedicated to making your child's experience at the Conference the best it can possibly be. While WJMC may seem as though it is a long time away, I can promise you and your Correspondents that it comes faster than you think it will. Soon enough, you'll start shopping for clothes, finishing travel plans, and filling out health forms (Not too many, I promise!). Soon as you know it, you'll be sending your Correspondent off to WJMC. I know that this all seems like an involved process, and I'm sure that you have many questions that you'd like to have answered. The Youth Advisory Board and the staff of WJMC are here to help you and your Correspondents. Please feel free to ask questions in this forum. My fellow YAB members and I will do our best to respond to your questions. If it is more convenient for you, I can be reached by email at mlhdolphin8@aol.com. I hope that the YAB members can assist you in any way possible. I am happy to answer any questions that I can.

WJMC is such an amazing experience. The Correspondents become a family, and keep in contact for a long time after the Conference. I have met some of my best friends through this experience. If you would like to read more about my experience, and the way that activities occur at WJMC, you are more than welcome to visit my blog, which I wrote during my time at WJMC. The address is http://www.wjmc2016.wordpress.com. Once again, I hope that the YAB members are able to help you in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to use this forum or to contact me directly. I hope that you and your Correspondent are excited for what's to come at WJMC 2017 this summer. It will certainly be a week to remember. All the best to you and your students.
